What if I can’t get Flock to work properly?

Instructions for Singers

  1. Download Flock here:

  2. Install the application.

  3. When you open Flock for the first time it will prompt you to enter your email address. Enter your address and then a minute later you should receive an email. Open that email and click on the confirmation link. A browser window will open that confirms your email address is registered.

  4. Return to Flock and you should now be able to use it as an individual Singer, also called a Member. You should see a window similar to the one below.

  1. Plug in your headphones and mic. Plug in your headset before proceeding to the next few steps.

  2. Choose your microphone from the drop-down list. You should see the sound level move when you talk.

  3. Choose your headphones from the drop-down list. Click the Test audio button and you should hear a tone sounding in the headphones.

  4. Your choir leader will provide you with the details for Choir room name and Password.

  5. Enter your Name and select your voice part from the Section drop-down list.

  6. When you’re ready, click Join. Note that you will be able to enter the room only when the Leader has opened the session.

Instructions for Leaders

  1. Follow the above instructions for the Singer through to the end of Step 9. All of this time you will be in the Member app.

  2. To switch to the Leader app, press the Ctrl key on your keyboard and, while holding the Ctrl key, use your mouse or track-pad to click the Settings button. You should then see a Switch to Leader button. Click it.

  3. You’ll be prompted to re-start Flock. Click OK.

  4. Close Flock and re-open it. You should now be in the Leader app.

  5. Enter a Room name and a Password for your session. Choir members will use these to connect to the right room. When you’re ready to open the room, click Create. At that point, choir members will be able to click Join on their screens and connect to the same room.

What if I can't get Flock to work properly?

  • Try the tips mentioned in the Troubleshooting guide:
  • Try the Health Check accessible on the main screen. If there any tests result in red or orange, follow the help link for tips on what you can do.
  • It’s possible that other people have had the same issue as you and may have solved it. Try doing a search, by clicking the icon at the top right of this forum (the magnifying glass).
  • If still no luck, go to the Get Help section of the forum and post a new topic.
