I’ve been recording my practice sessions with my choir members. What I hear through my headphones whilst we’re singing and what I get on the recording are a different in that during the rehearsal I can hear far more of the other singers that I can on the recording. This makes it trickier for me to balance the live session if what I hear isn’t quite what the choir are hearing.
Also the recording often sounds “over recorded” particularly the piano part & as leader when I talk or sing I am very loud. I have tried to set my own mic level prior to rehearsals using warmup room and playing the piano but should I just turn this right down even though the rings will then not join up?
